Abstract
Two hundred years after the Greek Revolution and the creation of the Greek state, women from all over Greece but also from the diaspora, picking up thread and needle, are reconnecting with the rich tradition of embroidery, from Circe and Penelope to today. Over time, works of embroidery art have adorned many major museums of the world, while in recent years this type of craft has gained ground, constantly gaining followers. Among them are the 177 Greek women who, inspired by the course of Hellenism, chose with their own criteria persons and events that stood out in the long history of the Greek nation.
