Abstract
In a special way, the Municipality of Volvi choses to mark the official start of the bicentenary of the National Rebirth. The event is dedicated to the largely unknown contribution of women to the national struggle. It is being held on International Women’s Day to honour and highlight this important role. The speaker underlines women’s heroism, contribution and position as a multidimensional personality that combines many different roles. Her talk includes 1821 fighters, female philhellenes and even national martyrs.
