Abstract
The Diocese of Messinia, continuing its serious of events marking the bicentenary of the Greek Revolution, organises a talk on “The National Martyrs: Metropolitan of Monemvasia and Kalamata Chrysanthos Pagonis, Bishop of Koroni Grigorios Bistis and Bishop of Methoni Grigorios Papatheodorou”. The event says the martyrdom of these bishops underlines the important role of the church as a refuge and source of consolation for the people. Following an introduction by the Metropolitan of Messinia, the speaker mentions the difficult life of the glorious national martyrs, offering important information about the characters of those who were distinguished for their patriotism and bravery.
