Abstract
The Municipality of Maroussi and the Union of Peloponnesians of Maroussi hosts, with the support of the municipal Public Benefit Enterprise (KEDA), an online event marking the bicentenary of the Greek Revolution. The speakers emphasise the hard struggle of those who fought for freedom, referring to local heroes such as the people of Maroussi. They also relate important historical events, such as the siege of the Acropolis, the Orlov events while two students of the Greek-French School present important events of the revolution, from the Proclamation of Ypsilantis to the Protocol of Independence in 1830.
