Abstract
The New York City Greek Film Festival York celebrates the bicentenary of the proclamation of the Greek Revolution by screening seven films and an episode of Netflix, with themes inspired by Greek history. Along with the screenings, speeches were made by filmmakers who presented the historical context as well as information about the creation of the film. Films screened were: America America, Under the Olive Tree, The Blood of Zeus, Rocks of Freedom, God Loves Caviar, The Road to Sparta, In Search of Andreas: Political Leadership in a Time of Crisis and 300.
