Abstract

Two women explore their duality by unfolding aspects of power, hierarchy, inclusion and exclusion. With humour, sensitivity and a strong penetrating look, the show meets the blurred boundaries between the dressed and the naked body, allowing its different aspects to be seen. The female body revealing its nudity cancels divisions, rules and codes, prejudices and social divisions and invents a new language to speak about female nature, confronting the issues of identity and freedom. The intake of the female body today, its modern representation but also the social and cultural references to it are the central issues that the Instar show deals with. Choreographic research focuses on the questions: how liberated is the female body really and what does it represent in modern society?
