Abstract
The documentary series entitled "The Roads to Freedom" was shown on Cosmote TV on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the beginning of the Greek revolution. The first screening of the series took place in 2019.
"This is a series of seven one-hour historical documentaries on the Greek communities in Europe, created during the Turkish occupation. The title, "The Roads to Freedom", identifies the perpetual journey of Greeks to European countries during the difficult years of the Ottoman conquest, in order to understand the importance of the Greek communities created by Greeks abroad in the cities of the Diaspora, but also to highlight the role of expatriates in the preparation of the Greek revolution of 1821, and their contribution to the formation of the cultural physiognomy of modern Hellenism in later years.
