Abstract
The speakers of the Parents’ School–Open University of Katerini seek to reveal the efforts of the Greeks to achieve their much-longed for freedom from the Fall of Constantinople onwards. They then refer to the actions of Emmanouil Pappas, a member of the Philiki Etaireia, for the coordination of the uprising on Olympus. The uprising on Olympus and Pieria did not take place at the same time as the regions of southern Greece because there was a lack of serious organisation of the struggle and a considerable delay in the supply of the necessary weapons. 1821 it is a school of memory and a source of power for the Parents’ School. The centre of resistance of the klephts and armatoles in Olympus and Pieria was the village of Milia.
