Abstract
In 2021, Greeks celebrated the bicentenary of the outbreak of the Greek Revolution. This is the anniversary of the most important event in modern Greek history, which is directly related to the founding of the new Greek state. To celebrate this anniversary, the Centre for Liberal Studies (KEFiM) is hosting an educational programme title “Bicentenary of the liberal revolution” in order to document and highlight the liberal and democratic character of the Greek Revolution, the institutional innovation and the ideological hegemony of liberals drawing from the already existing literature but also the findings of original research. The programme continues the online public podcasts that KEFiM started in November 2020 on the liberal and democratic dimension of the 1821 Revolution. In this series, Aristides Hatzis, KEFiM research director, hosted a monthly talk on the Greek Revolution with leading historians.”
