Abstract
Through a series of anniversary events, the Holy Diocese of Limnos and Agios Efstratios marks the bicentenary of the Greek Revolution. The aim is to emphasise the role of the church and faith in the ideals of the country. The church was a living body that celebrates to this day this relentless struggle for independence. The speaker thus presents the lives of three new martyrs from Spetses, based on research and tradition. Ordinary people who gave their lives and fought the atheism and greed of the heathens. They were Nikolaos Petroutsis and his two nephews Stamatios and Ioannis.
