Abstract
The Holy Metropolis of Zakynthos, through the Alithos centre of the Parish of Vanato and within the framework of the online lecture series marking the bicentenary of the National Uprising of 1821, hosts a series of talks on the Greek Revolution. The third talk in the series refers to the pre-revolutionary and post-revolutionary events of the liberation struggle that took place in the church of Agios Georgiou, of the Latinos family. It was the sacred place where members of the Philiki Etaireia were sworn in, where the fighters met and where ammunition was stored. Fr Anthimos Argyropoulos was the historical figure associated with this church.
