Abstract
The students of the 1st Kindergarten of Atalanti, in the framework of the educational program “The imprint of 1821 in my homeland” of the Regional Directorate of Primary and Secondary Education of Central Greece, borrowed puppets from the Aiantios Public Library of Atalanti, they created their own play, the puppet costumes, the sets, and starred in their school puppet show. The play presents the way Greeks treated Turkish prisoners and the relations between the two ethnicities, with emphasis on the figures of the bishop of Talanti, Neophytos, and the Turkish doctor Kourtalis. The theatrical text was based on details from the play of the Atalanti Musical Cultural Association “Chorodia” and the book “A crucifixion that was left undone”.
