Abstract
The Special Synodal Committee on the Academy of Ecclesiastical Arts of the Church of Greece, in collaboration with the Byzantine and Christian Museum, organises the exhibition “For faith and fatherland: The contribution of the church to the Greek struggle of 1821”, which includes historical artefacts kept in sanctuaries., temples, monasteries and ecclesiastical museums of the Archdiocese of Athens and the metropolises of the Church of Greece, in the Holy Monastery of Iviron of Mount Athos, in the collections of the Byzantine and Christian Museum as well as in the private collections of the late Vassilis Korkolopoulos, Dinos Notaras and Michael Scoullos.
