Abstract
The Holy Diocese of Fthiotida hosts a series of events to mark the bicentenary of the 1821 Greek Revolution under the blessing and auspices of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece. At the opening ceremony of the events, the Archbishop of Athens and all of Greece, Ieronymos II, delivered a message on the anniversary year 2021, while the Metropolitan of Fthiotida, Symeon Voliotis, read the circular of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece for the new year and for the beginning of the bicentenary celebrations. The event continued with the greetings of the local leaders, who praised the work of the local church. Finally, the bicentennial programme was presented in detail by Archimandrite Anthimos Nerantzis, synodal secretary and preacher of the diocese.
