Abstract
In the Society of Cypriot Studies, which is housed in the Old Archbishopric Palace, where the holy rooms of Archbishop Kyprianos are exhibited, a variety of additional artefacts, related to the period of 1821, stamps, portraits of the Archbishop Kyprianos of Cyprus, maps, newspapers, costumes, commemorative medals, shadow theatre figures, paintings by Fotis Kontoglou and the popular painter Theofilos Hadjimichail. A special place among the exhibits is occupied by the sculpture of John the Baptist, which was donated to the Society of Cypriot Studies by the Italian sculptor Don Battista Marello, comparing the beheading of John with the national martyr Archbishop Kyprianos.
