Abstract

I. Sideris Publications and the Municipality of Hydra present of the book by Hydra Mayor Giorgos Koukoudakis titled “Hydra in 1821: Guerrilla war at sea”, at Piraeus Municipal Theatre. The book highlights the form of the naval struggle of the revolutionary Greeks, the action of the Hydriot navy and claims that Hydra, like the rest of the islanders that took part in the Revolution, consciously resorted to the form of guerrilla warfare at sea as the only solution to help claim the liberation and independence of Greece from a militarily and politically stronger opponent.
