Abstract
The Society for the Study of Modern Hellenism, on the occasion of the bicentenary of the Greek Revolution and the increase in the interest on behalf of experts and the wider reading public in this major event, decided to proceed with the reprinting of the sold-out collective volume, dedicated to the memory of the historian Despina Themeli-Katiforis, whose interests focused on the revolutionary and Kapodistrian period. The volume includes ten studies: one related to Lefkada, the environment that nurtured Katifori (by Spyros Asdrachas), seven studies related to the Greek Revolution (by Vassilis Kremmydas, Alexis Politis, Tonia Kiousopoulou, Christos Loukos, Triantafyllos E. Sklavenitis, Maria Christina Chatziioannou, Tereza Nider-Kouvara) and two studies referring to earlier periods (by Anastasia Papadia-Lala, Maria Efthymiou). The second edition was supplemented with an earlier text by Spyros Asdrachas, which he himself had granted to be included in it, and a detailed index was added.
