Abstract
"The National Historical Museum presents a performance of Karagiozis (shadow play), with “The Recognition of the Three Brothers”, as performed by Jason and Alexandros Melissinos. Karagiozis “travels” to the era of the 1821 Revolution 1821 and discovers a terrible secret from the past, which connects Veligekas, Nionio and an unknown armatole. The event is part of the series of activities “1821: Echoes in the Present”, organised by the National History Museum to mark the bicentenary of the 1821 Revolution and held in the framework of the “Athens 2018: World Book Capital” of the Municipality of Athens, a major donor of which is the Stavros Niarchos Foundation."
