Abstract
Talk by His Eminence Panteleimonos, Metropolitan of Veria, Naoussa and Kampania, within the framework of the series of talks on “Blood of Martyrs and Heroes” marking the bicentenary of the 1821 Greek Revolution. The sixth talk is entitled “Children, don’t forget the rope of the patriarch!” (Part I). It is dedicated to the memory of Patriarch Gregory V, a cleric and hieromartyr who was sacrificed for his flock. The metropolitan refers to his life, his studies and his journey from his native Dimitsana to Constantinople.
