Abstract
"The Greek National Opera Orchestra and Chorus, under the baton of Elias Voudouris, will perform excerpts from Nikolaos Mantzaros’ work “Hymn to Liberty” to poetry by Dionysios Solomos, as well as part of Nikos Skalkottas’ 36 Greek Dances. The Byzantine Choir of the Ecclesiastical Foundation for Byzantine and Traditional Music of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens, under the direction of head cantor Constantinos Angelidis, will perform Byzantine ecclesiastical hymns dedicated to the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary, the Holy New Martyrs Patriarch Gregorios V, Cosmas of Aetolia, Chrysostomos of Smyrna, Filothei the Athenian and Constantine Palaeologos. "
