Abstract
This event, organised by the Pancyprian Federation of Student Unions of Thessaloniki, marks the bicentenary of the 1821 Uprising. The speaker mentions the participation of the Cypriots in the Philiki Etaireia in Moldavia, in the Sacred Band but also in their action in the Peloponnese and abroad. Their help at sea during the Greek Revolution was also important as many were sailors, captains, arsonists. Although the exact number of Cypriots is not known, their participation in the struggle from the Philiki Etaireia to Kapodistrias is a given. Finally, as volunteers, they participated in subsequent revolutions.
