Abstract
On the occasion of bicentenary of the 1821 Revolution, the actress and playwright Magda Mavrogianni presents “The Son of the Nun: Georgios Karaiskakis” in collaboration with the Meizon choir. Mavroyianni, as Karaiskakis’ mother-nun, narrates, in a reverent atmosphere, her son’s story, from his birth in a cave close to Mavromati, Karditsa, until the end of his life. The narration is accompanied by a new vocal ensemble by Dimitris Platanias, which includes reverent religious songs.
