Abstract
A concert featuring works for solo piano by Greek and philhellenic composers. The uniqueness of the phenomenon of the philhellenic movement, lies in its great spread in all social strata, as well as in its all-round artistic expression, through the visual arts, music, literature, but also in the field of popular and utilitarian art. In the field of music, many composers, famous and insignificant, either inspired by philhellenic poems or adapting others, served philhellenic movement with their musings. The themes include frequent references and comparisons with the ancient Greek glory, as well as the heroic resistance of the struggling Greeks, men, women and children, against the barbaric tyrant.
