Abstract
The Philharmonic Orchestra and Mixed Choir of the Municipality of Kalamaria marks the bicentenary the Greek Revolution with an evening titled “Angelos Sikelianou and Mikis Theodorakis: ‘March of the Spirit’” at the Melina Mercouri Municipal Theatre in Thessaloniki, which marks its 35th anniversary. “March of the Spirit” was written by Angelos Sikelianos in 1945, set to music by Mikis Theodorakis in February 1969, during his exile in Zatouna in mountainous Arcadia and led to the song cycle Arcadia V.
