Abstract
Fifteen short stories about the 1821 Revolution and journalism, written by novelists from Macedonia and Thrace, who responded to the invitation of the Educational Foundation of the Macedonia and Thrace Daily Newspapers Journalists’ Union and participated in the Press 21 initiative. On the occasion of the bicentenary of the revolution, authors were invited to write a short story that would have a reference point to the specific event in its historical context or as a historical memory and would be related to journalism, in the way they chose. The short stories were published in the newspaper Makedonia on Sunday, one every week, recalling the strong tradition of hosting literary works in the pages of the press. They are gathered in this volume, so that the initiative acquires a more lasting imprint, echoing the constant pursuit of the Educational Foundation of the Macedonia and Thrace Daily Newspapers Journalists’ Union, to illuminate meeting points of history with journalism.
