Abstract
As part of the celebrations of the 200th anniversary of the beginning of the Greek Revolution, the Youth Center of the Holy Metropolis of Lefkada and Ithaca, organizes online events entitled: "Around our Great '21". The theme of the sixth event is the relations between the Church and the Enlightenment, which approach in two dimensions, the historical and the ideological. The Modern Greek Enlightenment was a period that gave a huge impetus to the enslaved Genos, awakened it while education brings freedom. Literati participated in the developments while the Church contributed to this movement to pass to the popular masses. The speaker emphasizes that the Church was not opposed to the Enlightenment but was the only body through which the Enlightenment could be spread. The priests become carriers of the movement while the Church transfers scientific progress to Greece. Her only uncertainty was when atheism emerged and she considered Christianity to be in danger.
