Abstract
Kostis Karpozilos talks with Thanasis Gallos and Vangelis Karamanolakis about the Contemporary Social History Archives’ new digital history program that examines the relationship of the left with 1821.The aski1821.gr website maps the second life of the Greek Revolution through the multiple readings of the Greek left. Photographs, posters, publications, announcements, analyses and studies compose a dynamic field that maps the complex relationship between the left and the national question, the formation of a militant genealogy starting from the revolution, the multiple appearance of 1821 in rhetorical places and politics, practices of the communist movement. From 3 March 2021, aski1821.gr will allow us to rethink the history of the Greek 20th century and at the same time to understand the traces of a 19th-century revolution in the formation of the revolutionary project of the Greek left.
