Abstract

On the occasion of the bicentenary of the 1821 Revolution, the Museum of Modern Greek Culture presents the temporary exhibition “The Bread we Break: Heroes and Symbols of 1821”. Objects from the museum’s collections and personal belongings of Queen Olga from the Tatoi Collections coexist with works by two renowned Greek artists, the painter Yiannis Adamakis and the poet Michalis Ganas, in a dynamic dialogue of image and speech, memory and identity. For the design of the exhibition, MNEP collaborated with the art historian Louisa Karapidaki.
