Abstract
This volume, part of the series “200 years since the Revolution”, deals with the story of the first governor of Greece, Ioannis Kapodistrias. It examines the critical revolutionary dilemmas faced by Hellenism at the beginning of the 19th century, the decisions it took and their consequences. At the same time, it is a journey into the pre-revolutionary and revolutionary Greek world, from the Greek peninsula to Vienna and Trieste, Odessa and St. Petersburg. However, the contradictions and the opposing forces that existed led to the murder of Ioannis Kapodistrias, the “sacrificial lamb” of the national regeneration of the Greeks.
