Abstract

Phoebus Delivorias and Dimitris Karantzas re-examine our relationship with national identity, the revolution, the achievements and accidents of two hundred years, our relationship with tradition and invite a group of important writers and a troupe of protagonists to celebrate, to dance to satire and wonder. Together they aspire to sing “hail, hail” again, without being hindered by “past greatness” and “narrating them to mourn”. Figures from the revolution, the celebrations of the “war virtue of the Greeks” in the Kallimarmaro, everyday people trying to survive in the midst of a pandemic, communicators trying to reinvent and “sell” Greece, victims of gender-based violence, television figures who have left their own era, the films made about the revolution, a woman deceived by everyone and everything, the cut scenes from the opening ceremony of 2004, the descendants of the heroes, the adoration for the ancient times, the national division, the fanaticism … and Gianna – everyone and everything will parade in this satirical re-examination of ancient and modern history.
