Abstract
The Congress of Vienna, Kapodistrias, the Philiki Etaireia, the Greek World, Kolokotronis and 1821 are the stations studied in this volume of the series “200 Years since the Revolution” with the use of all modern Greek and foreign literature for the period and the critical examination of the memoirs of the fighters. This book explores a fascinating mystery, but also a fascinating historical journey, the meeting of persons, events, circumstances, in the course of the preparation for the outbreak of the 1821 Greek Revolution, which seemed untimely and out of international context. Two centuries later, the historical study still has many historical issues to solve, while the integration of the revolution into the dominant forms of European history is pending – perhaps because it still retains its peculiarity, which has to do precisely with the different perspectives and views that can be focused on it. The Greek Revolution is a modern event for Europe itself in a seemingly suffocating, traditional context.
