Abstract

The Association of Philologists of Kozani, honouring the bicentenary of the declaration of the 1821 Revolution, hosts a series of online discussions entitled “1821: Local and international aspects of the Revolution”, under the auspices of the Region of Western Macedonia. This talk present the area of Siatista, considered a precursor of the liberation struggle. Siatista under Ottoman rule was the place that promoted people of letters and sciences that helped in the rebirth of the nation. The climate of all the revolutionary ideas that developed strongly in the region shaped the character of the learned revolutionary from Siatista Nikolaos Kasomoulis, who devoted himself to the struggle for freedom and actively participated in the revolution in Western Macedonia.
