Abstract
As part of its series of talks on 1821, the Iakovatios Library held its fourth online discussion on the topic “The regular army: Τhe unknown hero of the struggle for national regeneration”. The speaker refers to the action of the Greek regular units during the Greek Revolution, its relationship with the “bands” and their formation by Alexandros Ypsilantis. It presents events from the war, many of which are unknown as we know more about the guerrilla warfare than the creation and development of the regular army.
