Abstract
As part of its series of talks on 1821, the Iakovatios Library held its ninth online discussion on the topic “Music during the 1821 Revolution”. The speaker presents unknown aspects of music and musical instruments during the period of the revolution. He emphasises that philhellenism and the trend of antiquity played an important role in the creation of a musical world. Then he gives information about the content of the folk songs and their creators as well as about the difference between the songs of the fighters in Greece and the songs of the European composers.
