Abstract
“The discussion will focus on the discourses, aesthetics and media practices that emerge in the context of the alt right on both an international and a local level. More specifically, we will attempt to identify discourses being articulated on that side of the political spectrum related to concepts of race, gender, and nation. In particular, the discussants will address the notions of “beauty” promoted by these discourses and crystallized through rhetoric and audiovisual representations. Additionally, the discussion will try to present a brief genealogy of the alt right and refer to some basic media tactics adopted by their supporters (including the use of memes, videogames, and trolling) in order to propagandize their views and forge their identity.”
