Abstract
The Holy Metropolises of Epirus (Ioannina, Paramythia, Arta, Preveza and Dryinoupolis), honor the memory of Agios Kosmas and co-organize a Scientific Conference on: "National and Spiritual Contribution of Agios Kosmas and the struggle of Souli". The Conference is organized in the framework of the Program of Regional Anniversary Celebrations of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece for the 200 years since the beginning of the Revolution (1821-2021).
The Conference begins with the reading of a message from the Blessed Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Mr. Ieronymos, while at the end a music program with reference to the National Polygenesis follows. The topics of the two Conferences presented at the anniversary conference are the following: "Agios Cosmas of Aetolia and Ioannina", "The Apostolic way of work of Agios Cosmas of Aetolia, as a prelude to the Greek Revolution of 1821", "The sermon of Agios Cosmas of Etolos in the Ottoman-occupied Western Balkans (1760-1779)", "Patrocosmas, the Letters, Preveza", "The greatness of the personality of Agios Kosmas of Etolos", "The presence of the Souliotes in the area of Arta and their sacrifice in the Monastery of Seltso", "The struggles for freedom in Souli and the importance of faith".
