Abstract
The exhibition presents contemporary works with new martyrs, which were created by 24 artists for this exhibition and through it seeks to present to the general public saints who are not very well known, saints who martyred during Turkish rule. Men, women and children, ordinary and everyday people who have certainly sacrificed their lives for their Christian faith and have established with their attitude the truth, that the darkness of hatred and violence cannot defeat light and love. During the Turkish occupation, during which the change of religion almost always meant a change of nationality, the martyrdom of these people functioned indirectly and as a resistance to the Turkification of the Greeks and their annihilation from history.
