Abstract
Talk by His Eminence Panteleimonos, Metropolitan of Veria, Naoussa and Kampania, within the framework of the series of talks on “Blood of Martyrs and Heroes” marking the bicentenary of the 1821 Greek Revolution. The first talk is dedicated to Saint Filothei and seeks to describe and honour those who participated in the struggle. He refers to artistic depictions of the revolution, which are analysed and interpreted for their symbolism.
