Abstract
Recreate Greece hosts a series of online events on the occasion of the bicentenary of the Greek Revolution entitled “1821: Truths behind the Historical Events”. The purpose of the events is to establish national self-knowledge. In the third talk the topics include Rigas Velestinlis and the Philiki Etaireia. The speaker then analyses the Revolution in the Danubian Principalities, the role of Ali Pasha in the Revolution and finally the action of the klephts and armatoles.
