Abstract
The exhibition is specially dedicated to the Bavarian dimension of the Greek liberation struggle and its impact on Munich. Prominent are the Propylaea on Königsplatz. Elements of their construction reflect the events of the Greek Revolution, as well as the reconstruction of a new state entity under Otto, of the Wittelsbach dynasty. The exhibition, which is spatially divided between the two museums, the Staatliche Antikensammlungen and the Munich Glyptothek, emerged as an idea jointly with the Palladion Foundation and is organised in collaboration with the Consulate General of Greece in Munich and the Otto-König von Griechenland Museum in Ottobrunn.
