Abstract
The objects presented in the exhibition, weapons, medals and seals, come from a donation of the family of Ioannis Polyxigis to Heraklion Archaeological Museum. These are personal items with special symbolic and emotional value as heirlooms from the diverse action of the chief. At the same time, however, they are a valuable historical legacy for the turbulent period that led to the union of Crete with Greece and the realization of the vision of the fighters of 1821 for an independent and autonomous Greece, which participated in the international developments of the early 20th century.
