Abstract
A series of 21 historical documentaries written by Georgios P. Malouchos. This is a unique journey in the history and places of the struggle for the freedom of the Greeks. For the first time, dozens of leading Greek and foreign experts analyse the events and tell shocking stories of the protagonists of the revolution, while rare documents of the struggle reveal its unknown aspects. At the same time, 1821 comes to life again through a number of fascinating works of art that forever captured the faces, the battles, the pain and the thirst of the Greeks for freedom. The main pillar of the series of historical documentaries is the unique historical archive of the newspapers Elefthero Vima/To Vima (since 1922) and Athinaika Nea/Ta Nea (since 1931).
