Abstract

Nine visual artists describe and interpret the importance of the Greek Revolution, its confrontation with time as a constant production of ideas and feelings, as a recognition and source of inspiration of Greekness, presenting in the field of painting their different aesthetic choices, the variety of media and manners, their uniqueness and skill. Portraits of protagonists of the 1821 Revolution, as well as the first period of existence of the Greek state, scenes of historical events, renderings of symbols and traditions meet and talk on the occasion of the bicentenary, with a view and reference of the wide field of the “homeland”.
