Abstract
The Holy Metropolis of Fthiotida organises a series of anniversary events in honour and memory of the bicentenary of the Greek Revolution of 1821 under the blessing and auspices of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece. The speaker refers to the priestly education in the difficult years of subjection, which was the core of inspiration for the struggle of national regeneration. He presents data and information from rare sources, highlighting the fact that during Ottoman rule the cultivation of priestly vocations did not stop at all. On the contrary, it continued to bear fruit, overcoming all difficulties. Then students of the ecclesiastical school presented and sang hymns, poems and traditional songs.
