Abstract
On the occasion of the bicentenary of the Greek Revolution, Katerina Papadopoulou’s concert focuses on the impact of the revolution on oral folk tradition and its emergence as a vehicle for intercultural dialogue. Musical snapshots, songs that tell stories – sometimes real and sometimes intertwined with primitive myths – about the mental strength of the anonymous Greek and the daily struggles for freedom, travel through the centuries thanks to the disarming power of music and have left their mark on musical map of the Aegean.
