Abstract

This effort aims to present how the visual artists-workers in the works of restoration and maintenance of the monuments of the Acropolis and other archaeological sites and museums, read the history of the Greek Revolution of 1821 and transcribe it in their works. The ideas, persons, events, truths and myths of the Greek Revolution become a source of thought, inspiration and creation. How can the Monument (the Acropolis) and its history be read through the narratives of the revolutionary struggle. Each creator transforms, through his work, the way he perceives history. Each work is a different reflection on the concept of revolution.
