Abstract
The Holy Metropolis of Zakynthos, through the Alithos centre of the Parish of Vanato and within the framework of the online lecture series marking the bicentenary of the National Uprising of 1821, hosts a series of talks on the Greek Revolution. The fifth talk in the series deals with the refugees in Zakynthos. Zakynthos received all the people persecuted by the Turks from the West and the East. These refugees contributed to the economic development of the island through art and the flourishing of trade. The talk deals mainly with refugees from Epirus.
