Abstract
The Holy Metropolis of Fthiotida organises a series of anniversary events in honour and memory of the bicentenary of the 1821 Greek Revolution under the blessing and auspices of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece. The event was held in collaboration with Lamia Music School and Lamia Municipality and is dedicated to the Philiki Etairea member and Enlightener Dimitrios Ainian. The students present the local hero Ainianas, son of the Priest Zacharias Economou or Anagnostos, and rich audiovisual material, through which Greek heroism, freedom and democracy with is underlined through the means of art. Finally, the traditional songs that were presented had a theme in 1821 and the participation of men and women in the struggle.
