Abstract
The Municipality of Tripoli, in collaboration with the Peloponnese Region, presents the emblematic musical work of Christos Leontis “Cantata Eleftherias” in Areos Square, with free entrance for the citizens who were there to watch it up close. Those who were in the square had the opportunity – in the context of the bicentenary of the “Fall of Tripolitsa” – to enjoy a topical concert in poetry and texts by Dionysios Solomos, Rigas Feraios and General Makryiannis, composed by the renowned composer Christos Leontis. The composer himself was in Tripoli and conducted the 50-member Tripoli Choir, accompanied by the Mixed Choir of the Municipality of Kifissia (conducted by Thanassis Arvanitis) and the Athens Contemporary Orchestra. Soloist was Yiannis Kotsiras, who was joined by Kostas Triantafyllidis and Ioanna Forti. Narrators were Konstantinos Konstantopoulos and Ourania Basli.
