Abstract
The conference consists of presentations by 14 young historians associated with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and is part of a research programme conducted by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in the framework of the Initiative 1821-2021 and is sponsored by the National Bank of Greece. The conference consists of four sessions: the topics of the first section concern the celebrations and the representations of 1821 while in the second section the presentations revolve around archival material. The third section examines sources of the Russian elite for the revolution and Turkish historiography, while in the fourth session the presentations concern the research of secondary sources and archives from Greece. Finally, the conference concludes with a talk whose subject is the depiction of the lives of the fighters of 1821 after the revolution.
